Director of Foodservice Design

RealFood Hospitality, Strategy & Design (RFHSD) is seeking a Director of Foodservice Design to lead the foodservice design discipline within our dedicated hospitality design team, RF DesignStudio. From master community planning and interior design to commercial kitchen and bar design, we specialize in bringing hospitality spaces to operational fruition and experiential life. As a premier, well-established hospitality strategy and design firm, RFHSD works with a client portfolio that spans all segments of the hospitality and foodservice industry across the US and even the globe.

We are looking for a high-caliber design leader who has a deep, nuanced understanding of foodservice equipment, design standards and processes, especially in various segments (from education to workplace to resort and restaurant).

Things you will do in this role:

• Team Management & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the RF DesignStudio team; foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence while managing resource allocation and department capacity
• Design Oversight & Quality Assurance: Serve as the ultimate gatekeeper for design quality, overseeing the production of detailed technical drawings in the Revit platform, ensuring all outputs meet or exceed established RFHSD and industry foodservice design standards
• Project & Client Management: Maintain client relationships, project timelines, budgets and deliverables, supporting the design team to drive assigned project task work to completion and on deadline
• Operational Excellence & Process Innovation: Drive the evolution of RFHSD and department standards, BIM workflows and efficiency improvements; optimize the use of CRM and internal project management platforms to track department pipelines, tasks and team utilization
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal leadership, other RFHSD departments and stakeholders and our client base (architects, engineers and operators) to deliver design services and solutions 
• Brand & Business Development: Serve as a key ambassador for the RFHSD brand; support the sales and proposal process by providing technical expertise, participating in client pitches, and showcasing our design capabilities to prospective partners

Things we’d like to see in candidates:

• Minimum 8-10 years in foodservice/hospitality design, with experience in leadership, managerial, or supervisory roles
• Architectural degree is highly preferred and/or strong portfolio with commercial foodservice projects across various hospitality sectors
• Advanced proficiency in Revit; proficiency in CAD and Sketchup preferred
• A commitment to excellence, both personally and in the team you cultivate
• Exceptional communication, time management and problem-solving abilities
• A high-level attention to detail and the ability to pivot between high-level strategy and technical execution
• A strong desire to make an immediate impact as well as to make a lasting impression with the clients and stakeholders we serve
• Someone who thrives under the highest expectations, communicated deadlines, can self-motivate/manage, and take responsibility and accountability seriously
• Experience in hospitality is a plus, and a hospitality mindset a must
• Experience working professionally with a diverse range of people, internally and externally
• Microsoft 365 knowledge a plus

Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday

• In-person onboarding; transition to flex schedule and work-from-home opportunities after 3 months of employment
• Project travel in and outside of the New England area
