Mendix Developer
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite/hybrid will be prioritized first; open to remote)
Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and high level Developer with Mendix experience to lead application design and development within a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment. This role is ideal for someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level-designing scalable applications, building them in Mendix, and enabling broader team adoption. You will play a key role in advancing digital manufacturing initiatives using Mendix and Siemens Opcenter, supporting critical automation and traceability projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and build applications using Mendix within an MES (Opcenter) ecosystem
- Develop reusable templates and frameworks for scalable application development
- Act as the subject matter expert for Mendix, guiding a team that is new to the platform
- Lead and support the integration of applications with MES, edge devices, and manufacturing tools
- Design solutions to automate data transfer from shop-floor equipment into MES systems
- Support track-and-trace initiatives for tools and components to improve visibility and reduce loss
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications and integrations
- Train and enable business users and developers to build basic Mendix applications
- Smart Workstation Initiative: Implement automation and connectivity for modern manufacturing tools and edge devices
- Track & Trace Program: Build solutions to monitor and track tools and components across operations
- Proven experience developing applications in Mendix (any recent version; experience with 10.x preferred)
- Experience integrating Mendix with MES platforms (preferably Siemens Opcenter)
- Strong understanding of application architecture and solution design
- Ability to independently design, develop, and deploy Mendix applications
- Experience working with:
- REST APIs and integrations
- Troubleshooting and debugging distributed systems
- Solid understanding of how enterprise applications interact across systems
- Experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution / Workstation
- Background in manufacturing or regulated environments (e.g., FDA)
- Experience working with industrial automation, edge devices, or IoT systems
- Prior experience training or mentoring teams on low-code platforms
- Experience working within SQL and data modeling
