Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Stand Up Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support shipping, receiving, and materials handling operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, safety regulations, and mechanical systems to ensure smooth workflow and maintain a safe working environment.
Duties
- Operate stand-up forklifts, clamp trucks, order pickers, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately track inventory and process shipments.
- Perform order picking and material handling tasks, including stacking pallets and organizing stock in designated areas.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Load and unload trucks using pallet jacks, cranes, or other heavy equipment as required.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Support warehouse management with tasks related to inventory control, stock replenishment, and space optimization.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution processes, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards for material handling equipment operation.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in construction or crane operation is a plus but not required.
- Valid forklift certification/license is required for this role.
