Superintendent – Water/Wastewater Projects
Location: Huntington Beach & Fountain Valley, CA

About the Role:
Our client, a well-established national general contractor specializing in self-perform water and wastewater infrastructure, is urgently seeking an experienced Superintendent to support multiple active projects in Southern California. This role is based across several sites in Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley, with a focus on municipal water treatment work.
Project Overview:
The Superintendent will oversee three concurrent contracts for OC Sanitation District (OC SAN), including mechanical upgrades and piping replacements at two major treatment plants. All scopes are 100% mechanical to start, but the ideal candidate will also have the ability to manage civil and structural components for future projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage field operations across multiple small-to-mid-size infrastructure projects

Ensure work is completed safely, to spec, on schedule, and within budget

Oversee site logistics, labor coordination, subcontractor management, and QA/QC

Interpret project plans, specifications, and scope documentation

Identify equipment, materials, and manpower needs to meet production goals

Serve as the primary on-site safety lead and field coordinator

Coordinate with vendors on layout and installation of piping, valves, and equipment

Lead RFI generation and field-driven change order documentation
-
Collaborate with project managers and estimators during and between projects
Ideal Candidate:
-
15 years of superintendent experience with self-performing general contractors
-
Deep expertise in water/wastewater treatment plant construction

Experience managing small-to-mid-size public/municipal infrastructure projects
-
Comfortable running mechanical scopes and familiar with civil/structural disciplines

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

OSHA 30 certified (or willing to complete training prior to start)

Willing to rotate into estimating roles at headquarters between field assignments

Able to travel throughout Southern California as projects require
