Water Mitigation Project Manager

Real Restoration is hiring an experienced Restoration / Mitigation Project Manager for water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, and commercial mitigation projects in the Chicago area. This is a hands-on project management and estimating role for someone with restoration experience, strong job documentation skills, and the ability to write or review scopes in Xactimate, Simbility/Symbility, or similar estimating software.

This is a growth role for a restoration professional who wants to move into a stronger PM seat, lead crews, manage higher-value losses, work directly with adjusters and property owners, and grow into Senior Project Manager or Operations leadership.

We are also open to experienced Mitigation Crew Chiefs, Supervisors, or Restoration Estimators who are ready to step into a Project Manager role.

This position requires prior experience as a Mitigation Project Manager or Restoration Estimator.

What You'll Do:

• Manage water mitigation, fire restoration, and mold remediation projects from initial loss through completion
• Perform site inspections, moisture mapping, and develop detailed scopes of work
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and industry standards
• Prepare accurate Xactimate and Simbility estimates for residential restoration projects
• Manage Time & Materials (T&M) billing for commercial and large-loss projects (preferred)
• Oversee job documentation including daily logs, drying logs, work orders, and photos using MICA or equivalent platforms
• Utilize Dash project management software to track project progress and reporting
• Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, and TPAs
• Ensure compliance with TPA guidelines, insurance requirements, and IICRC standards

On-Call Expectations:

• Project Managers are on-call one week per month.
• All team members are expected to respond in the event of a local catastrophic event or large commercial loss.

What We're Looking For:

Required:

• 2 years of experience in property damage restoration, water mitigation, mitigation estimating, or restoration project management
• Xactimate experience
• Experience managing water mitigation jobs from inspection through completion
• Ability to create scopes, document jobs, communicate with adjusters, and manage crews
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable with on-call rotation

Preferred:

• IICRC WRT or ASD
• Dash, MICA, Encircle, CompanyCam, or similar software
• T&M billing for commercial / large-loss jobs
• Experience with fire, mold, storm, or reconstruction handoff
• TPA / managed repair program experience
