Registered Nurse (RN) – MDS Coordinator

Position Summary
The RN MDS Coordinator is responsible for managing the complete Medicare and Medicaid case-mix process to ensure accurate documentation and appropriate reimbursement for services provided within the Center. This role conducts concurrent MDS reviews to maximize allowable reimbursement collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and accurate assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track all Medicare and Medicaid case-mix documentation
- Complete and oversee accurate and timely MDS assessments
- Conduct concurrent MDS reviews to ensure optimal reimbursement outcomes
- Integrate clinical information from nursing, dietary, social services, restorative, rehabilitation, and physician services
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reimbursement guidelines
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure in Indiana (required)
- Minimum of one year of long-term care nursing experience preferred
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, MDS completion, case management, or clinical resource utilization strongly preferred
- Proficiency with basic computer technology and electronic documentation systems
