Real Power specializes in the sale, maintenance and monitoring of DC/ battery and uninterruptible power supply equipment.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients by performing maintenance, repairs, and installations of various systems and equipment. The ideal candidate applies diversified knowledge of the power electronics industry to complete start-up, testing, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance work of UPS and other related critical power equipment along with excellent customer service skills, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for commissioning, maintaining and providing emergency support on power electronics at customers’ sites within the regional coverage area
- Perform and manage battery load tests
- Performs commissioning-focused design reviews, prepares commissioning test procedures and reports, coordinates and oversees on-site testing
- Involved in preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up and/or field modifications
- Attend periodic training on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Troubleshoot issues with manufacturer technical support
- Participate in the development of Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and be expected to consult with supervisor(s) concerning unusual problems and developments. Supervise and train other service technicians.

Requirements:
- Preferably 5-10 years of experience in the critical power industry and ability to troubleshoot down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDU’s, STS, etc.
- Utilizes hand tools and test equipment to perform work
- Requires excellent verbal, written communication skills & customer relation skills
- Must be able to provide high level of quality customer service
- Must be able to complete Field Service Reports in a timely manner
- Requires knowledge or ability to learn of equipment manufacturer’s specifications
- Ability to work independently and exhibit resourcefulness
- Must be able to perform repeated bending & lifting of up to 100 lbs. during certain procedures
- Must be able to provide necessary pro-active recommendations to clients
- Knowledge of general computer hardware & software applications
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Some off-hours/ weekend and overnight work required
- Previous 3rd Party UPS experience a plus
- UPS OEM factory training or experience in Liebert / Emerson / Vertiv , APC / Schneider , or Eaton / Powerware , Toshiba and Mitsubishi a plus
- Technical degree a plus
