Job Purpose:
REAL Journey Academies is seeking a highly innovative Principal to lead a talented and mission- driven staff committed to achieving high levels of student success. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to implement the instructional vision and drive strong
academic outcomes.
The Principal should possess a deep knowledge of teaching and instruction, along with demonstrated success in engaging and inspiring a school community. This position serves as the educational leader and is responsible for the leadership, administration, and management of all site-based matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Academics and School Culture
- Build a strong school-wide sense of community among students, staff, and families to support RJA’s mission and values
- Create a positive, results-oriented culture focused on student achievement and collaborative leadership
- Responsible for curriculum, instruction, student assessment, staffing, facilities, student welfare, attendance, discipline, community relations, and student activities
- Design and implement student achievement plans informed by data, assessments, and stakeholder feedback
- Maintain a safe and productive learning environment
- Plan, facilitate, and attend meetings with families and stakeholders
- Oversee communication with families and the broader community
- Foster collaboration and continuous improvement through effective staff engagement
- Staff Leadership & Development
- Serve as the administrative and instructional leader of the site
- Supervise and evaluate personnel
- Promote a collaborative and growth-oriented professional culture
- Provide ongoing instructional support and timely feedback to staff
- Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to meet organizational goals
- Facilitate professional development and staff meetings aligned with organizational priorities
School Operations
- Oversee site operations in coordination with organizational leadership
- Collaborate with departments such as operations, academics, and student services
- Participate in personnel decisions, including hiring, discipline, and termination
- Develop and implement operational procedures aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students, staff, and visitors
Physical Demands
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to perform computer-based work, including typing

- Valid California Teaching Credential
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful certificated experience
- At least three (3) years of leadership experience in an educational setting
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
