Job Summary:The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the facility maintains high standards of cleanliness and complies with all food safety regulations.Responsibilities:Sanitation Management:Oversee and manage the sanitation of the entire facility, including processing equipment, floors, walls, and other surfaces to ensure compliance with USDA regulations and company standards.Develop and implement comprehensive sanitation protocols tailored to a frozen food environment, ensuring the facility is prepared for daily USDA preop inspections.Preoperational Inspections:Coordinate and conduct daily preop inspections in collaboration with USDA inspectors, ensuring all equipment and areas meet stringent cleanliness and safety standards before production begins.Document and report findings from preop inspections, promptly addressing any issues or non-compliances identified by USDA inspectors. Team Leadership:Supervise and provide direction to the sanitation team, ensuring all team members are trained in proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.Schedule and assign tasks to sanitation staff, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.Compliance and Record-Keeping:Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and corrective actions.Ensure compliance with SQF, USDA, FDA, and other relevant food safety standards and regulations.Continuous Improvement:Evaluate the effectiveness of sanitation procedures through regular audits and inspections, making recommendations for improvements as needed.Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, incorporating new methods and technologies to enhance the sanitation program.Training and Development:Develop and deliver training programs for sanitation personnel, ensuring all team members understand and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.Conduct periodic refresher courses and hands-on training to reinforce proper procedures and protocols.Collaboration:Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to coordinate cleaning schedules and address sanitation-related issues promptly.Communicate effectively with USDA inspectors, management, and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to food safety and sanitation.
