Part-Time Real Estate Photographer (No Experience Needed)

Waltham, MA (West Boston preferred)

We’re looking for a dependable, kind, and professional Real Estate Photographer to join our small, growing team. If you’re flexible, comfortable learning new things, and love interacting with people, this could be a great fit.

A little camera experience is preferred, but no professional photography background is required. All gear and training are provided. What matters most is your reliability, responsiveness, and genuine care for clients.

About the Role

• Travel to properties within a 30-mile radius of Waltham and the Boston area
• Capture real estate photo (and eventually video) content using company-provided equipment
• Represent the brand with professionalism, warmth, and strong communication
• Upload raw photo/video files (no editing required)
• Follow a clear checklist and workflow for each shoot
• Obtain your FAA Part 107 drone license quickly after hiring (company provides guidance and support)

Pay Structure

• Paid training: $25 per hour (fixed rate during training)
• Standard photoshoots: $25 per unit (each unit = 60 minutes of scheduled on-site time)
• With FAA Part 107 drone license: $30 per unit
• With video training completed: $35 per unit
• Additional services: Paid based on project scope
• Mileage reimbursement: $0.67/mile

Note: Pay is piece-rate and based on scheduled on-site shoot time (not hourly door-to-door). Drive time is not paid hourly but is reimbursed through mileage.

Ideal Candidate

• Lives within ~30 miles of Waltham, MA (West Boston area preferred for central access)
• Confident driving in Boston and surrounding suburbs (including winter conditions)
• Has strong availability Monday-Wednesday mornings and early afternoons, with some weekend flexibility
• Friendly, genuine, and professional with strong people skills
• Highly responsive and dependable - communicates quickly and clearly
• Organized and detail-oriented; follows checklists and confirms uploads without reminders
• Can think on their feet and problem-solve independently when layouts or situations vary
• Comfortable learning new processes and applying feedback
• Excited to grow with a small, friendly, but high-performing team
• Already has or is ready to obtain the FAA Part 107 drone license quickly after hiring
• Basic camera familiarity strongly preferred; video experience a plus

What Can Be Challenging

We want to be upfront - this role isn’t for everyone.

• Since bookings vary, your schedule will too. You’ll have flexibility to block off days when you’re unavailable, but most shoots take place between 9AM-5PM on weekdays, with the occasional evening or Saturday option if clients request it.
• There’s a lot of driving (sometimes up to an hour between properties) and navigating back and forth through traffic will be a daily activity.
• Shoots are usually booked 2-4 days in advance, so flexibility is key
• You’ll need to stay organized, tech-savvy, and punctual
