What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Accountant position at Real Estate Equities?
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Purpose: Assist with monthly, quarterly & annual accounting functions by processing cash receipts, completing bank reconciliations, reconciling balance sheet accounts, assisting with annual budgets, communicating with property managers to resolve issues, assisting with the completion of monthly financial reporting packages, assisting with annual audits, and other various tasks.
This role may be hybrid
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process cash receipts from residents and various rental assistance agencies in Yardi
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations in Yardi
- Perform resident & HAP ledger adjustments in Yardi
- Assist with month end reporting process and completing monthly financial reports
- Online banking administration
- Prepare quarterly replacement reserve requests
- Assist with reporting requirements. Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting.
- Process Real Estate Tax payments
- Perform accountant duties for assigned portfolio
- Assist with annual budgets in Yardi
- Assist with 1099 process for all properties
- Assist with year-end audit preparation
- Other assignments as directed by Controller and Accounting Manager
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended period
- Ability to twist, turn, bend and stoop as necessary
Position Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills, Yardi & Excel software experience a plus
Salary : $26 - $31
