What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN REGISTERED NURSE position at REAGAN COUNTY CARE CENTER?
The Registered Nurse performs the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care. Plans, assesses, directs and participates in the delivery of nursing care. Evaluates the quality of nursing care in compliance with the established standards of nursing practice. Oversees the maintenance of required supplies and equipment for patient care. Facilitates favorable relationships within nursing staff, with the Medical Staff, and other departments within the District and seeks input regarding nursing care. Assist with the management of Nursing Department functions and supervises the nursing team on duty.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. Eighteen months to complete and maintain BCLS certification, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. Complete required in-service education and annual competencies.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Two years of experience in emergency room nursing is preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT: Demonstrated ability in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is indoors. Visual and auditory acuity are necessary and should be sufficient to properly interpret pertinent hospital and patient data. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and physically lift, pull or push a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
