POSITION SUMMARY
The General Operator supports ReadyOne Industries' manufacturing objectives by performing a variety of non-sewing machine operations, manual production processes, and hand-tool tasks. Assignments may include pressing, marking, kitting, turning and picking, cutting and measuring, grommeting, trimming, inspecting, snap setting, punching, and related garment or non-garment operations. The role follows approved work instructions and safety and quality requirements to produce conforming work efficiently and reliably.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform assigned manual production operations, including marking, kit formation and completion, cut-apart work, turning and picking, cutting and measuring, grommeting, snap setting, punching, trimming, pressing, inspecting, and other approved processes.
- Operate assigned non-sewing machines and use hand tools, fixtures, measuring devices, and production aids accurately and safely after completing required training.
- Review applicable work instructions, specifications, approved samples, production tickets, and quality requirements before beginning or changing an assigned operation.
- Load, position, handle, process, and move materials or work-in-process carefully to prevent damage, contamination, loss, or mixing of products and components.
- Perform basic machine setup or adjustments only when trained and authorized; do not bypass guards, controls, lockout requirements, or other safety protections.
- Inspect assigned work and materials at required intervals, identify visible defects or nonconforming conditions, and separate or mark affected items according to established procedures.
- Immediately report equipment malfunctions, damaged tools, quality concerns, material discrepancies, safety hazards, or unclear instructions to the Team Lead or Production Supervisor.
- Accurately complete assigned counts, labels, production records, quality checks, and basic system entries and maintain product identification and traceability.
- Meet established safety, quality, attendance, efficiency, and production expectations without compromising product conformance or safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping, material-handling, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Work cooperatively with Team Leads, supervisors, operators, Quality personnel, mechanics, and support departments to maintain safe and effective workflow.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
The General Operator reports to a Team Lead and/or Production Supervisor, as assigned, and has no supervisory responsibilities. The role works closely with other production employees and with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and production-support personnel as needed.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Experience
- Prior experience in an industrial, manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or production environment preferred, but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn the safe operation of assigned non-sewing machines, hand tools, fixtures, and measuring devices.
- Ability to learn and perform basic machine setup or adjustments when trained and authorized.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, approved samples, work instructions, safety rules, quality standards, and production procedures consistently.
- Ability to recognize common defects, material discrepancies, equipment problems, and unsafe conditions and report them promptly.
- Basic counting, measuring, documentation, and computer or manufacturing-system literacy sufficient for assigned production records and entries.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately, adapt to different assigned operations, maintain required pace, and work cooperatively as part of a production team.
- Dependable attendance, attention to detail, respectful communication, and commitment to safety and quality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently sit or stand, grasp and handle objects, and perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift.
- Occasionally walk, bend, reach, turn, or change position while performing assigned production duties.
- Lift or move materials weighing up to 15 pounds unless a specific assignment has separately documented requirements.
- Regularly use near vision, hand-eye coordination, and sufficient dexterity to operate assigned tools, machines, and materials safely and accurately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
