Job Title: Preschool Director
Reports to: Church Leadership and Ready, Set Grow! Board
Location: Brockport, New York
Job Type: Part-Time
We are seeking a Preschool Director to lead our well- established early childhood program. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who will strategically oversee daily operations, manage and mentor our teaching staff, maintain a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn about God, themselves and their world.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool ensuring a secure, engaging and caring environment
- Manage the preschool budget
- Collaborate with the Ready, Set Grow! Board to fulfill job responsibilities
- Interview and train teachers, assistants and substitute staff
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback/coaching to staff
- Organize professional development opportunities and lead regular staff meetings
- Conduct formal yearly performance reviews and manage personnel matters
- Oversee the development and execution of an age appropriate, Christian curriculum
- Ensure the learning environment meets developmentally appropriate practices
- Evaluate program effectiveness and implement continuous improvement
- Develop effective communication with families of students through newsletters, social media, etc. and build strong school-home partnerships
- Conduct Open Houses and Tours for prospective families
- Develop positive community relations with school districts and other preschool programs
- A bachelor’s degree in education with a current New York State teaching certification
- Experience as a preschool teacher or director is preferred
- Strong knowledge of early childhood best practices
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skiills
- Solid understanding of business management, budgeting and marketing
