Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Concrete Plant Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, where you will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive safety and environmental programs at our concrete manufacturing facility. This vital role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. As an energetic leader in environmental health and safety, you will drive initiatives that protect our employees, community, and environment, ensuring operational excellence across all plant activities.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Practice and enforce safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee and supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach.
  • Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and auditing the plan to maintain and update as needed SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training.
  • Provide advice, assist, and audit Plants to ensure that effective EHS and Safety programs are implemented and working. Perform and contribute to the company by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of any training modules needed.
  • Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage fleet compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, licensing, permits, and IFTA requirements.
  • Assist with Site surveys and Preparedness of projects to help ensure a safe work environment including Emergency Plans & Procedures.
  • Manage and maintain required safety compliant equipment for employees.
  • Manage companies’ sustainability, safety and environmental reporting programs.
  • Review, audit and help investigate accidents and incidents which occur in the work environment while reporting and managing corrective actions.
  • Maintain filing systems regarding current and new hire employee training, safety practices and facilitating the onsite safety committee team.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report to GM on vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure plants have required assets.
  • Manage and enforce companies Driver/Vehicle Safety Camera System.
  • Work with Area Managers and Plant Supervisors on fleet and employee unexpected issues.

Skills/ Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience in Environmental Health and Safety role. P
  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel and Word) are essential. Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external
  • Flexible to change and open to constructive feedback
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
