Job Description:
As a Technical Sales Representative at Ready-Made Plastic Trays, you will be responsible for generating and cultivating new business opportunities while serving as a technical expert for our customers. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and facilitate the sales process from lead generation to closing. This role requires a combination of strong technical knowledge and sales acumen to succeed in a highly competitive market.
In addition to sales duties, you will also assist with quoting custom tray projects, collaborating with customers to understand their unique specifications and requirements, and ensuring that project costs are accurately estimated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth, targeting industries in need of thermoformed plastic products.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities by engaging with key decision-makers and understanding their technical requirements.
- Provide technical product knowledge and support to potential and existing customers, translating complex technical information into easy-to-understand benefits.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met and deliver customized solutions.
- Assist with quoting custom tray projects, working directly with customers to gather specifications and ensure accurate pricing.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and contracts to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts in CRM software (HubSpot).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in technical sales or sales engineering, ideally in the manufacturing or plastics industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, product design, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in quoting custom projects and collaborating with clients to develop tailored solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and close sales opportunities.
- Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HubSpot is a plus.
