Site Coordinator
Job Description
Working in partnership with underserved schools, Reading Power provides one-to-one tutoring during the school day for children in preschool through second grade.Our mission is to accelerate children's literacy learning and to develop a love of reading and writing.
The Site Coordinator will report to the Director of Programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead tutoring program at school site
- Communicate with and manage tutors
- Create and send weekly tutor newsletter
- Assess students for identification and periodic growth
- Collaborate with school staff to identify and monitor students
- Participate in staff training and monthly meetings
- Participate in tutor training and events
- Prepare site and materials for tutoring
- Create and maintain an organized classroom environment
- Maintain accurate student records
- Monitor student progress via assessments, student folders, and daily lesson plan
- Lead daily tutor meetings to provide ongoing training and additional support
- Attend school literacy events
- Tutor at least one student
- Attend professional development opportunities
- Serve as a Reading Power ambassador
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education; previous experience in early childhood education preferred
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Proficiency with technology and Google platforms
- Passion for the organization and mission
- Part-time position, 3 days/wk, salary range $18,000-$22,000
