Senior Category Manager, Target

What You Will Be Doing:

• The Category Development Specialist will manage segments of the book business and focus on business analysis, purchase motivations and industry trends in effort to deliver the right product, to the right store, in the right quantities at the right time.
• Design and perform metric analysis that directly impacts assortment, pricing and promotional strategies.
• Generation of forecasting and planning tools that maximize projection accuracy and increase turnover throughout the department.
• Securing and management of all product sample materials and other needed office functions enabling ReaderLink to be successful in its Category Management Charter.
• Management of publisher communications and corresponding timelines, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of information and strategy.
• Preparation, interpretation, and presentation of critical consumer data.
• Line review meeting management
• Manage Planogram transition, revision, and imaging and intercept process.
• Provide thought leadership for Target merchants.
• Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five (5) years industry or related experience is preferred.
• Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
• Knowledge of proprietary TIPS systems is preferred.
• Previous experience working with a big box retailer is preferred.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
• Ability to communicate complicated information to others.
• Must be proficient in basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to do algebra, calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• A methodical and organized approach to problem-solving.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Salary: $85,000.00 - $108,000.00
