Reaction Search International has been retained by StorageMart on an exclusive consulting assignment to identify a Chief Information Officer for one of the most significant privately held organizations in the self storage industry. Headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, StorageMart is the world’s largest privately owned and family operated self storage company, with more than 350 locations across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom and more than $10 billion in assets under management.
This is a high impact executive leadership opportunity for a forward looking technology leader who can shape and lead the enterprise technology agenda across customer facing digital platforms, enterprise applications, data and analytics, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, including generative AI. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the CEO and executive leadership team, the CIO will translate business strategy into a scalable, secure, and cost disciplined technology roadmap that supports continued growth, operational excellence, and innovation.
StorageMart operates in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, high accountability environment where speed, action, and execution matter. The company values leaders who are hands on, commercially minded, comfortable with direct feedback, and able to simplify complex technical issues for business stakeholders. This role is fully onsite in Columbia, Missouri, and success in the position depends on strong in person collaboration and leadership presence.
The Chief Information Officer will serve on the Executive Leadership Team and lead enterprise technology strategy, architecture, and execution. Key areas of responsibility include digital platforms, engineering, product strategy, customer experience systems, data and analytics, AI and automation, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, vendor management, financial oversight, and the continued development of a high performing technology organization. This leader will be expected to improve alignment across teams, elevate operating discipline, modernize platforms, and build a scalable, future ready technology foundation for the business.
Qualified candidates should bring 15 or more years of progressive technology leadership experience, including experience leading enterprise scale technology platforms, cloud environments, applications, and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of partnering with executive leadership, managing significant budgets and vendor ecosystems, and delivering measurable business outcomes. Experience in multi site, asset intensive industries such as real estate, retail, hospitality, logistics, or related sectors is preferred, along with experience in digital transformation, platform modernization, and AI driven automation.
