Job Summary
The Parenting Skills Educator provides weekly in-home education, training and support services to parents with an active Child Protection case to improve parenting skills and parent/child interaction.
We are currently recruiting candidates who are able to start working in mid to late January 2026.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Parenting Skills Educators will work with parents with active Child Protection cases to provide in-home parenting education as well as guided and directed parent-child interaction sessions and observations. Skills taught to parents include those around child development, child/family safety, domestic violence, substance use, and positive discipline techniques. Services may be provided virtually and/or in person, based on parent/guardian preference. Services primarily provided during daytime hours with occasional evenings and weekends based on parent/guardian need. FPD services are intended to improve the well-being of children and families by strengthening parenting abilities, reducing reports of abuse and neglect, and preventing out-of-home placements.

BA/BS in human development, child development, education, or related mental health degree; and

Requirements
Required Qualifications
BA/BS in human development, child development, education, or related mental health degree; and
- Two years of experience in this role or a similar role.
- Effective and professional communication skills
- Good problem solving and organizational skills
- Independent and a self-starter
- Creative and able to think outside the box and on your feet
- Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and maintain own reliable transportation and comprehensive auto insurance.
