What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Behavior Technician position at Reach Educational Services?
Reach Educational Services is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a hybrid role located in Cheboygan, Michigan. This position is based in the private residence of the company’s President, working with three homeschooled children.
You will be responsible for delivering care that reflects the Reach mission. This is a unique opportunity to blend high-fidelity ABA therapy with academic homeschooling support in a collaborative, professional, and private home environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Excellence (ABA) High-Fidelity Implementation: Carry out 1:1 and group ABA protocols, focusing on social skills, emotional regulation, and adaptive living. Natural Environment Teaching (NET): Use the homeschooling routine as a natural backdrop for teaching communication and social independence.
Clinical Documentation: Maintain meticulous, daily data collection through Reach's systems to track behavior and skill acquisition.
2. Academic & Homeschooling Facilitation Homeschool Support: Deliver 1:1 and small-group tutoring in core subjects (Reading, Math, Science) using the family's established curriculum. Behavioral Instruction: Use ABA principles (positive reinforcement, task analysis, and prompting) to make academic learning accessible and engaging for all three children. Executive Functioning: Teach organization and independent study habits to help the children navigate their daily academic schedule.
3. Professionalism & Privacy Discretion: Maintain absolute confidentiality and a high level of professional etiquette within a private residence. Collaboration: Partner directly with the family and a Reach BCBA to ensure the children’s clinical and academic goals are aligned. 4. Travel & Flexibility Domestic Travel: Accompany the family on occasional trips to Ohio and/or Florida to provide continuity of care and educational support may be required. Adaptability: Maintain a consistent therapeutic and academic environment across different locations during travel periods. Ideal Candidate Profile Certification: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in good standing. Experience: 2 years in ABA; experience with homeschooling or private home sessions is a significant advantage. Soft Skills: Exceptional reliability, professional boundaries, organizational skills, and the ability to manage the dynamics of a multi-child household. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Psychology preferred.
