Group Therapy Facilitator
REACH Counseling Services is seeking a Group Therapy Facilitator for the Ravenna location. The Facilitator’s primary responsibility is to coordinate therapeutic services to clients and provide activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote participation of the client on an ongoing basis in discussions of his or her Individualized Service Plan, its goals, and the clients’ status toward achieving the goals
- Advocate for clients and coordinate required services or resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their emotions and coping skills
- Encourage clients to express their feelings, discuss their lives, and develop insight into themselves and their relationships
- Positively engage clients in all interactions
- Establish and maintain an environment that is conducive to treatment and client emotional development
- Plan and prepare for therapeutic activities on a daily basis
- Conduct organized group sessions and other therapeutic activities on a daily basis
- Adapt the group curriculum to the client’s individual treatment goals and ability
- Integrate Attachment and Attunement, unconditional positive regard, and trauma-focused treatment with clients
- Track interventions and client responses through daily progress notes
- Evaluate clients’ goals and therapeutic progress on a daily basis
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and activities on clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
- Identify and address gaps in service provision for assigned clients
- Provide information on access to community resources that are relevant to the needs of the client
- Communicate client progress to the treatment team, as needed and permitted
- Facilitate the transition process including arrangements for follow-up services
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
- Prior experience working with clients with emotional and/or behavioral needs is preferred
- Licensed Social Worker is preferred
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Ability to perform physical restraints according to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
- High-quality written and verbal skills
Job Schedule and Working Conditions
- The job follows a standard school schedule for a total of 187 work days in a year
- Ability to perform physical restraints according to the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
- Work is performed primarily in the school environment
