Evening Floor Cleaner (Temporary) - M-F 2pm - 10:30pm (May 1 - October 1)

START DATE : May 1st, 2026

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Reports to work on time and is extremely dependable; Performs routine building cleaning tasks; Accept and deliver packages; does related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE POSITION: This is routine manual work position requiring efficient performance of building cleaning duties. A Custodian works under general supervision on routine recurring assignments, receiving instructions on each new or unusual assignment. The work is reviewed and inspected by the supervisor. A Lead Custodian may supervise the work of one or more custodians or cleaners. The ability to work as a team, communicate effectively, and work within a chain of command structure.

• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and waxing floors
• Dust woodwork, furniture, and other equipment
• Wash walls and windows
• Clean rest rooms
• Arrange chairs, tables and other equipment for special use of buildings
• Lock down and secure work area
• Perform work as directed by building custodian and or supervisor
• Perform routine maintenance on cleaning equipment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment. and ability to use them safely, economically, and efficiently; ability to perform minor building repairs/trouble shooting as needed; general understanding of building mechanical systems; ability to make decisions and work with limited supervision; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; willingness to perform janitorial tasks; thoroughness; dependability; good moral character; good physical condition.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Person must have a high school diploma or GED, building cleaning and maintenance experience, ability to read and write, or any equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.'

Job Type: Part/Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 /hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shifts
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Buffalo, New York 14204: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License (Preferred)
• Own Transportation (Preferred)
