Description
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. People management responsibilities include training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
Responsibilities
- Supervising and assisting in daily warehouse and shipping ares including: Filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into designated staging locations, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage and timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
- Conduct routine physical/cycle inventory counts.
- Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules and work flow.
- Interpreting company polices to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
- Continuously improving warehouse operations by meeting ISO compliances.
- Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Operational Management experience in manufacturing or supply chain (a plus)
- Experience working with ERP systems and understanding of inventory flow
- Excellent leadership and problem solving skill
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office especially Excel
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics and inventory control
- Bilingual in Chinese preferred
