Essential Responsibilities
Sets up and operates plastic Thermoforming machines by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Include The Following
Read job specifications and set-up instructions to determine mold requirements, machine adjustments, and material requirements. Obtains supervisor sign-off after the first article is run.
Sets up molds and frames to achieve desired part.
Inspects and loads plastic sheet into machine.
Inspects mold for damage. Cleans and/or repairs mold as required.
Manually or automatically moves plastic sheet into heating area.
Observes machine operation to detect material defects or machine malfunction. Perform quality control inspections after each step in the manufacturing process. You have the authorization to stop any process that is questionable and seek the approval of the team lead before processing.
Trims and/or drills finished part as required.
Marks identifying part and/or job information on finished part.
Affix labels or stickers to finished product as required.
Inspects finished product against established quality standards. Completes all needed quality assurance information when required.
Records production information on work order.
Packs finished part on pallet or transports part to packaging department.
Performs minor machine maintenance when required. Reports major repairs needed to maintenance department and supervisor.
Notifies supervisor of scrap, reject, or questionable product to assure proper documentation/recording. Repairs quality problems if possible. Properly disposes of scrap prior to end of shift.
Monitors inventory of stock items & requisitions items as needed.
Utilizes good housekeeping practices. Keeps work area clean & organized.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist other departments when required.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; minimum six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to use a tape measure & perform basic arithmetic using fractions & whole numbers.
Communication Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively among employees of organization.
