Housekeeper

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeper for dedicated role at a private residence in Ada, MI!

Typical hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Housekeeping Duties 

• Cleans, vacuums, and dusts floors, ceilings, furnishings, hallways, fixtures, lavatories, mirrors, and empties trash containers. 

• Washes interior windows at reachable levels. 

• Monitors inventory levels of household cleaning supplies and reports needed supplies to supervisor. 

• Scrubs floors and polishes as required. 

• Cleans interiors of drawers, cabinets, and cupboards. 

• In addition to routine housekeeping responsibilities, periodic specific projects related to general residential upkeep will be required, including, but not limited to, scrubbing tile floors, cleaning/organizing drawers, removing window screens to thoroughly clean between windows and screens, etc.  

 

Other Household Duties 

• Changes bed linens and towels; make beds as necessary. 

• Launders and irons household linens and towels, occasionally personal clothing, and other miscellaneous items as necessary. 

• Reports maintenance/repair problems to Property Manager. 

• May greet vendors, answer telephone, and accept delivery of packages on occasion.  

• Exercises open communications with other household staff. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Previous housekeeping/house cleaning experience required; experience within a private home is preferred. 

• Responsible for work at locations in Ada, Michigan and surrounding area. 

• Responsibilities are conducted in a private home(s). While an employer/employee relationship exists, the employee must be genuinely committed to being part of the household staff team whose goal is positively contributing to a respectful home environment. 

• Preservation of a quiet and peaceful household atmosphere is essential. Sensitivity to family members' privacy should be always exercised.  

• The employer will provide equipment and cleaning products.  If a question arises as to equipment operation or product utilization, the supervisor will provide guidance. 

• Must be a responsible, dedicated, and dependable person of the highest integrity; neat and tidy in appearance; organized and reliable; positive in attitude; and one who demonstrates pride in the service he/she provides. 

• The family’s privacy is critical, and the highest level of confidentiality must always be exercised. 

 

Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to work at a physically demanding pace. 

• Ability to lift thirty (30) pounds to a maximum height of six (6) feet. 

• Ability to remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time; climb steps and stairs; stooping, bending, and kneeling. 

• Ability to stand on a small step stool to accomplish cleaning tasks. 

• Ability to push/pull vacuum cleaners and operate other household maintenance equipment for lengthy periods of time.
