Responsibilities
- Support lead carpenters in constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, fabricating, and assembling components accurately for various projects.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for construction site activities while maintaining safety standards.
- Aid in the installation of doors, windows, siding, cabinetry, flooring, tile laying, and other fixtures.
- Help with demolition, restoration work—including water damage remediation—and site cleanup to ensure a safe working environment.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction sites or carpentry work is preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential!
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (such as hammers, saws) and power tools (drills, saws) used in carpentry.
- Ability to read simple schematics or blueprints; training will be provided for complex technical drawings.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking on construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety protocols at all times.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately.
- Additional skills such as drywall installation (including plastering), metal stud framing, roofing support, caulking, stucco application, or masonry are a plus but not mandatory.
