We are looking for a Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our team. RDF Builders is proud to offer specialized training to our employees to help meet job requirements. 

This position requires in-person reporting to assigned construction project jobsites, with travel to and from other construction jobsites, main offices, and off-site meetings and trainings as required.

You will be expected to perform your work by:

  • Conducting daily maintenance and inspection of heavy equipment used.
  • Compacting dirt, gravel, and sand to complete work projects and meet compaction specifications.
  • Determining if underground or overhead utilities pose any risk prior to work being conducted; contacting proper resources to mark all known and unknown utilities.
  • Moving materials and tools from storage areas to places of incorporation into the structure.
  • Potentially assisting or filling in any job position when not operating heavy equipment.
  • Install and Maintain BMP’s for TESC.
  • Assisting with area cleanup.
  • Assisting with problem solving.
  • Maintaining a safe and respectful workplace.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You are qualified if:

  • You have experience with the use of backhoes, excavators, dozers, bobcats, two-way radios, power tools, and hand tools.
  • You demonstrate knowledge and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • You are able to read blueprints, use and read a tape measurer and do basic construction math.
  • You are a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • You have good organizational skills.
  • You have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • You demonstrate the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • You have a Valid Driver’s License (Class A CDL commercial driver's license “preferred”)

Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death, the pre-employment drug screen will include testing for non-psychoactive cannabis metabolites (marijuana). RDF Builders Co. is required by law to identify such safety sensitive positions prior to an applicant’s application for employment (see ESSB 5123, effective January 1, 2024).

Salary range is $42.00 - $60.00 per hour
