Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Flexible hours are not available.

Summary

The Molding Assistant position operates and tends to plastic molding machinery to mold thermoplastic parts and products. It also supports RDI productivity and molding operations by sorting, inspecting, assembling, packing and identifying product coming from injection molding machines.

Essential Functions

• Material Mixing - Understanding where to locate materials, amounts needed, and proper mixing of materials.
• Line Clearance - Understanding the procedure for starting and ending jobs, cleaning out materials, and communicating with Mold Setters
• Box Labeling - Understanding labeling processes for packaging our products and accurately weighing for box counts.
• Part Inspection/Quality Checks - to possess a consistent attention to detail mindset and understand the high standard of quality assurance needed when visually inspecting and measuring parts. This includes learning how to read drawings and the regular use of calipers for measuring parts to ensure parts are dimensionally correct.
• Safety - Performing all duties in a safe manner and following all safety protocols that are in place. Read and understand English to adhere to safety regulations.
• Production Orders/Paperwork - Properly maintaining detailed paperwork to ensure production demands are consistently and accurately met.
• Zone Maintenance/Housekeeping - Includes the proper execution of all production processes trained on, as well as the general housekeeping and organization of the Molding floor.
• Willingly completes other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  
  

Work Environment

This job operates in production manufacturing warehouse. May be required to wear common (PPE) Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Walking 50%, standing 40%
• Moving or lifting up to 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ascending/descending steps on a ladder or other equipment

• Must have attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, self-motivation, attention to detail and be able to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to learn technical material.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  
  

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 1-2 years injection molding preferred
