RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking Electrical Engineers, with preference towards specialities in Power Electronics Hardware and/or Control Design. Responsibilities of a qualified candidate will include:

RCT offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
- Design and test WBG- (SiC or GaN) based power electronic converter topologies including active rectifiers, isolated DC-DC converters, solid-state-transformers, and high-speed motor drives
- Design and test power electronic converter digital control algorithms
- Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) or real-time (RT) test setups
- Design and test systems based on WBG semiconductor modules ranging from 1.2 kV to 10 kV
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop solid-state power conversion systems
- Provide technical input into business development activities
- Create, review, and issue prototype and production level test procedures and test plans
- Write and/or review EE focused patents, whitepapers, and technical conference/journal articles
- Mentor junior Engineers
Minimum Requirements:
- United States Citizenship is required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
- BS in electrical engineering, computer science, or related major required; graduate work is acceptable in lieu of some work experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance
- Candidates with strengths in some of the following areas are highly encouraged to apply:
- Identifying, selecting, modeling, analyzing, and designing various AC and DC power conversion topologies
- Medium voltage power distribution and solid-state-transformers (SST)
- Selection or design of magnetics for power electronics converters, particularly for higher voltage switching applications
- High speed communications development with high performance FPGAs
- Experience programming various microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
- Hands-on experience with PLECS RT Box, Typhoon HIL, OPAL-RT, or other Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms
- Experience with Altium (preferred), Cadence, KiCAD, or other PCB design software
Immediate Requirements/Projects include:
- High Power SiC and Silicon power device design into converters/inverters
- MIL standards compliance (e.g., 461, 1399, 704)
- Multi-level parallel/series connected bi-directional AC-DC and DC-DC converters
- 13.8 kV and 4160V grid interface power converters
- Galvanically-isolated DC-DC converters
- Design of modular power converters ranging from 10kW to 500kW converters scalable to multiple MWs
- Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) and Power-Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) development of WBG-based converter applications.
