Position: DFMEA Process Support Coordinator
Location: GM Warren Tech Center. Hybrid onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Hybrid Monday and Friday
Duration: 6 months – potential for direct hire
Hours:
Monday through Friday with an opportunity for some overtime on weekends
· 1st shift: 8am to 4:00 pm
· OT: 10 hours/week through December.
Travel: none.
Number of openings: 1
Hiring Process: 2 rounds.
1st round: 15 – 20 minute MS Teams to clarify the job and talk about experience.
2nd round: onsite with a tour 30 - 45 minutes
Timing to hire: Hiring week of November 17th,
Pre-employment: Drug screen and criminal/background check.
Purpose:
The DFMEA Process Support Coordinator will provide organizational and technical assistance to the engineering team by managing documentation, coordinating review sessions, and integrating AI tools to streamline workflows. Supports DFSS project execution by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office and AI applications, and capable of coordinating across technical teams without requiring an engineering background.

Scope of Work:
• Coordinate and facilitate DFMEA review sessions, track and close action items
• Record DFMEA inputs and ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation
• Prepare and maintain summary reports, glide paths, and progress trackers
• Enter and manage Jira user stories and related DFSS project tasks
• Integrate and train AI tools to enhance DFMEA data capture, consistency, and workflow efficiency
• Collaborate with technical leads to streamline daily output tracking and follow-ups
Required Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with AI tools and process automation (prompting, data structuring, and workflow training)
• Basic technical aptitude: engineering degree not required
• Prior exposure to DFMEA or DFMA documentation preferred with an understanding of how all parts interact with each other, how it is designed and what could go wrong.

· Able to take notes, translate them into documents, send out meeting minutes
Day in the Life:
Ensuring they are prepared for the reviews that are setup for that day, making sure everything is documented, translated into a system called JIRA, make sure they are all prepared before the meeting is hosted, organize the meeting, daily standup between 1-2 hours, go through this meeting capture the notes, set the expectations for the next meeting, scribe all that data and track action items for the next meeting, working with experts/coaches to start augmenting the work with AI, enhance what they are doing, 25% of the time they are working on the AI aspect, trying to find new efficiencies, thorough quality check with the AI results.
Interaction level with the team – product team, mix of design engineers, technology experts they will be working with, the team size is about 30 people.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelors degree in computer science or computer engineering.
· Experience:
o Minimum 5- 7 years
Soft Skills:
· Process oriented and detail-driven, able to follow established procedures consistently
· Outgoing with a high degree of emotional intelligence to lead meetings.
· Effective communication; written and verbal. Good records keeping.
