Calibration Technician
Position Summary
Join our Metrology team as a highly independent and detail-oriented Calibration Technician. This crucial role is responsible for performing and documenting routine and non-routine calibrations across laboratory, manufacturing, and radiation monitoring equipment. Operating within a strict cGMP environment, you will not only execute complex procedures but also contribute to the continuous improvement of our calibration program, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Calibration Execution & Technical Mastery
- Perform independent calibrations of all laboratories, manufacturing, and radiation monitoring equipment.
- Accurately follow and execute both oral and written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Calibrate complex equipment and execute test procedures requiring specialized judgment and the ability to apply specialized knowledge where procedures are not fully standardized.
- Maintain all types of Metrology test and support equipment to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Possess the ability to operate all manufacturing equipment independently when performing calibration alignment practices.
- Select and use various types of simple and advanced calibration standards.
Documentation, Reporting, & Quality Compliance
- Generate reports and create accurate calibration-specific data using specialized calibration software.
- Compile data for documenting calibration and prepare necessary reports.
- Rigorously adhere to established practices and processes for addressing quality events, taking ownership to ensure accurate and complete compliance.
- Function as an approver for records compiled by other calibration technicians, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Troubleshooting, Maintenance, & Procedure Development
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electromechanical components and systems using basic diagnostic devices.
- Maintain, efficiently and effectively, core Metrology processes, including history records, shipping/receiving, scheduling, and customer notifications.
- Review, write new, and revise existing SOPs for the continual improvement of the calibration program.
Collaboration & Training
- Serve independently as the representative for the Metrology Organization on validation and cross-functional teams.
- Assist the Senior Calibration Technician in the training of entry-level individuals.
- Maintain accurate records, laboratory, and calibration equipment logs.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 3-5 required years of experience
- Proven background in an accredited or regulated calibration environment, preferably cGMP/FDA regulated.
Required Skills
- Exceptional ability to follow complex, detailed instructions and maintain meticulous documentation.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using specialized calibration software for data generation and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for SOP development, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
Salary : $35 - $45
