RCI Theatricals, a NYC-based theatrical general management company, is seeking an experienced General Manager to join its team managing multiple Broadway, Off-Broadway, national touring, special projects and developmental productions.

Since our founding in 1997, we have maintained a powerful presence in the live entertainment industry, managing projects of all scopes - Broadway, Off-Broadway, Regional, and Touring - and leveraging our experience and dynamic industry expertise to develop creative solutions to a range of business challenges. We have managed more than 80 Broadway shows, including but not limited to, Death of a Salesman, Liberation, Hadestown, Glengarry Glen Ross, Gypsy, Spamalot, Harmony, & Juliet, Shucked, and many more productions in development.
RCI is seeking an experienced Theatrical General Manager to lead the financial, operational, and administrative management of Broadway and commercial theatrical productions. This senior-level role partners closely with lead producers, investors, creative leadership, theater owners, unions, non-profit and presenting organizations to guide projects through all phases of production.
The ideal candidate brings extensive Broadway or first-class production experience, including theatrical touring, deep knowledge of commercial theater economics and labor agreements, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex, high-profile productions in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Production Leadership
- Lead all general management functions for Broadway and commercial productions, including developmental work sessions, out-of-town/non-profit tryouts, Broadway engagements, national tours, international productions, and licensing.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to lead producers on operational, financial, and business matters from inception to dissolution of the commercial producing entity.
- Oversee production planning ensuring alignment with artistic and financial objectives.
- Coordinate with theater owners, presenting organizations, booking agents, and touring partners regarding venue negotiations, scheduling, and settlements.
- Oversee all department heads and vendor relationships including press, advertising and marketing.
Financial Oversight & Investor Relations
- Prepare and manage multi-million-dollar production and operating budgets, weekly operating statements, cash flow analyses, and long-range financial forecasts.
- Monitor production performance, labor expenses, gross potential, and operating margins.
- Analyze weekly sales trends and provide strategic recommendations related to pricing, staffing, and operational efficiencies.
- Present financial updates and operational reporting to producers, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Partner with banking, accounting, tax, audit and insurance professionals to ensure compliance.
- Supervise the application and preparation of theatrical tax credits.
Labor Relations & Contract Administration
- Negotiate and administer agreements with venues, vendors, and all production personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable theatrical guild and union collective bargaining agreements.
- Manage work visa applications and renewals.
- Partner with labor counsel and human resource partners to resolve employment disputes and operational challenges.
Executive Operations Management
- Supervise associate/assistant general managers, company managers, stage managers, department heads, and operational staff.
- Partner with production managers/technical directors to deliver the physical production both on schedule and on budget.
- Establish operational systems and communication protocols across multiple concurrent productions.
- Oversee company travel, housing, payroll coordination, and vendor management.
- Lead production meetings and maintain cross-functional coordination among creative, technical, and producing teams.
- Manage high-pressure operational situations with professionalism and discretion.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of senior-level experience in theatrical general management, commercial producing, or large-scale production administration.
- Significant Broadway and/or first-class touring experience required.
- Proven expertise managing complex commercial theatrical budgets and operations.
- Extensive knowledge of Broadway labor agreements and commercial producing practices.
- Established track record working directly with lead producers, investors, and theater owners.
- Exceptional financial modeling, budgeting, and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, and theatrical accounting/reporting systems.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously under demanding timelines.
Additional Details
- Start Date: Fall 2026
- Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 annually
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 10 AM–6 PM, with frequent evening, weekend, and travel commitments.
