Job Summary The Chaplain I position for Spiritual Care provides direct spiritual care for patients, family members, and, as needed, CHOC caregivers. Demonstrates a spiritual presence to all persons that is compassionate, accepting, respectful, and sensitive. Works in situations appropriate to their essential job functions and scope of practice as a member of the healthcare team and with other healthcare professionals in augmenting the work of the Spiritual Care Department. Pay Range Minimum $61,318 Midpoint $81,203 Maximum $101,109 Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements. Experience * Required: Minimum two (2) years of pastoral care experience. * Preferred: One (1) year of healthcare chaplaincy (or equivalent) experience. Previous acute care experience. Education * Required: Master's degree in Theology/Divinity/Spiritual Care and ecclesiastical endorsement. Training * Required: Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Membership in the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or National Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC). Specialized Skills * Required: Ability for systematic and collaborative thinking. Proficient with computer skills: able to use word processing, email and computer-based charting. Ability to facilitate groups and interactions between staff members and be supportive of co-workers in other departments. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to work independently. Good time management skills and ability to work under pressure in rapidly changing work environment, while dealing with multiple concurrent priorities. * Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
