Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead and actively participate in grading and earthwork operations. This position requires hands-on fieldwork while supervising crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee daily grading and earthwork operations
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, blades, loaders, skid steers, etc.
- Read and interpret site plans, grades, and elevations
- Set grades, slopes, and drainage according to project plans
- Lead, train, and supervise crew members on site
- Ensure work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards
- Enforce jobsite safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and inspectors
- Perform daily equipment and site inspections
- Maintain accurate jobsite documentation and reports
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in grading and earthwork
- Prior foreman or lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of site work, grading, and utilities
- Ability to operate heavy equipment proficiently
- Ability to read blueprints and use grade checking tools (laser, GPS, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
