What are the responsibilities and job description for the Debt Collector position at RCB Collections?
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Debt Collector to join our team in Northern Minnesota. In this role, you will contact consumers regarding past-due accounts, work with them to set up payment arrangements, and help them resolve balances in a professional and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make and receive calls to discuss account balances and payment options.
- Negotiate and establish payment plans in accordance with company guidelines.
- Document all consumer interactions accurately in the system.
- Follow state and federal collection regulations, including FDCPA compliance.
- Maintain professionalism and empathy while handling sensitive situations.
- Meet performance goals for call activity, resolution rates, and payment volume.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in collections, customer service, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
- Ability to stay organized and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of FDCPA and state regulations (helpful but training provided).

Monday–Friday, daytime hours (no weekends required).
