POSITION SUMMARY: The Loan Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that consumer real estate loan transactions comply with applicable federal and state regulations, RCB Bank policies, and industry standards. This position plays a key role in preparing and reviewing loan disclosures, monitoring compliance-related documentation, supporting frontline staff with regulatory questions, and managing appraisal coordination.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares, reviews, and delivers required disclosures for consumer real estate transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviews and analyzes loan applications to determine Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA)-reportable status, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of HMDA data and support audit and regulatory exam readiness.
- Monitors and validates flood determinations and ensures appropriate flood insurance coverage is in place as required by regulation, communicating with Loan Officers and customers regarding flood insurance requirements and exceptions.
- Reviews loan files to validate they meet Qualified Mortgage (QM) requirements, including Ability-to-Repay (ATR) criteria, documenting findings and report exceptions to the appropriate staff.
- Reviews denied and withdrawn applications and ensures timely and accurate delivery of Adverse Action notices in compliance with ECOA and FCRA requirements.
- Serves as a resource for frontline lending staff by answering questions related to regulatory requirements, RCB Bank loan policy, and lending procedures, providing training and support as needed to ensure consistent understanding and implementation of compliance practices.
- Assists with projects supporting the overall credit compliance program, including policy updates, audits, and process improvements.
- Coordinates the ordering, tracking, receipt, and delivery of appraisals for all types of real estate transactions, ensuring appraisals are delivered to borrowers within required timeframes and that all regulatory requirements are met.

- Minimum two (2) years of experience in lending, quality control, compliance, or risk management preferred
- Consumer real estate and/or regulatory experience preferred
- Experience with Jack Henry, Synergy, and nCino a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally, and externally
- Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines and apply them to specific loan scenarios
- Organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Working knowledge of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
