Plant Controller / Finance Leader
Location: Santa Fe, TX (On-site)

R.C. Systems, part of Det-Tronics is seeking an experienced Plant Controller / Finance Leader to oversee all site-level financial operations, drive performance transparency, and partner directly with operations, supply chain, and engineering leaders. This role is a key member of the site leadership team and plays a critical part in supporting growth, improving cost structure, and strengthening financial discipline across a high-mix, engineering-driven manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership & Business Partnering
- Serve as the primary finance partner to the Business General Manager and operations leadership.
- Lead site annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial outlooks.
- Provide decision support for capacity planning, CapEx, make-vs-buy, pricing, and productivity initiatives.
- Accounting & Controls
- Oversee site-level accounting, month-end close, inventory accounting, and cost allocation accuracy.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and support internal/external audits.
- Manufacturing Costing & Productivity
- Own standard costing, routing/BOM accuracy, overhead rate development, and variance analysis.
- Drive labor and material productivity reporting; partner with operations to identify improvement actions.
- Performance Reporting
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting of KPIs, P&L results, cash performance, and inventory health.
- Develop dashboards that enable proactive performance management.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise accounting/finance staff and elevate financial capability across the organization.
- Lead cross-functional finance initiatives to standardize processes and improve data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 8 years progressive finance experience, including manufacturing or industrial experience.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory, and plant financial processes.
- Proven ability to partner with operational leaders and influence decision-making.
- Experience in ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel/Power BI skills.
- Hands-on, action-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-mix, engineering-heavy environment.
