Construction Worker

We are seeking an experienced Construction Generalist, who will be performing construction-related activities, which may include operating a variety of hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will be dependable, trustworthy, results-driven, hard-working, and be able to demonstrate extraordinary attention to safety, the discipline to work independently, as well as work collaboratively with the R. C. Stevens Team Members and Customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform construction-related activities in areas of carpentry, concrete, painting, flooring, and demolition, etc.
• Perform facility maintenance as needed
• Respond to and handle assignments and instructions given by supervisor
• Complete projects unsupervised and unassisted and have the ability to troubleshoot to get activity completed

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must have general knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices
• Must have a good understanding of mechanical blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Must have knowledge of the proper use of safety equipment and tools associated with work activities (use of hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks)
• Welding experience is a plus
• Repeat various motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
• Be able to climb and balance on ladders, stand, and/or sit for prolonged periods at a time
• Be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. occasionally to complete assigned job tasks following appropriate safety procedures
• Strong customer service skills along with good verbal and reading skills including the ability to read and apply manufacturer’s instructions and to clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, and other R. C. Stevens’ Team Members
• Punctuality along with schedule flexibility is critical. Must be able to work under pressures of time, a non-standard schedule, weather, backlog constraints, and around the schedule needs of R. C. Stevens’ customers
