About the Role
RBS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to report directly to the Shop Supervisor and help keep equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role is well suited for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot mechanical issues, follow established safety procedures, and maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform electrical repairs and routine mechanical maintenance on shop equipment
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate maintenance methods
- Read technical manuals to understand equipment operation, controls, and maintenance requirements
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual equipment inspections
- Maintain inspection logs and related documentation in accordance with OSHA requirements
- Monitor equipment, parts, and supply inventory levels; verify receipt of ordered parts and anticipate maintenance needs
- Requisition parts needed for repairs and or up keep
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations
- Support related maintenance and shop needs as assigned to meet business demands, fill in as production assembly needs come up
Required Skills & Abilities
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, lubrication, and power transmission components including bearings, gearing, sprockets, and couplings
- Experience supporting conveyors, fans, shaft alignment, rigging, large equipment installation, welding, piping, HVAC, and overhead crane maintenance
- Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction while following established procedures and safety requirements
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and apply specifications during maintenance and repair work
- Ability to use measuring instruments accurately and document inspection results clearly
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and related safety protocols
- Reliable work habits, including punctuality and consistent attendance
Other Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology is a plus
- 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, maintenance technician, or in a comparable role
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more infrequently
- Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, bend, and climb short ladders repeatedly throughout the day

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
