Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time hybrid technical and product leader to own system-level architecture, integration, and product definition for a complex, regulated medical product platform. This role combines systems engineering rigor with product management ownership, ensuring that clinical, user, technical, and business requirements are coherently translated into an executable, scalable product. This is a contract position with a 1-2 year commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own product definition including target product profile, user needs, and product/system requirements
- Define and evolve end-to-end system architecture across device, electronics, software, biologics, and manufacturing
- Lead system-level integration, design reviews, and technical decision-making
- Integrate biologics or combination product components into the overall system design
- Drive system-level risk management and verification strategy
- Act as the cross-functional technical and product integrator
Qualifications:
- PhD in Bio(medical), engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering or related disciplines OR 5 years in relevant industry role
- Familiarity with medical device hardware, including electronics, tissue contacting materials and integration
- Expertise in embedded systems for bioelectronic actuation, control and communications
- Firmware and software experience
- Mechanical design and modeling
- Strong organizational skills, with an emphasis on documentation, quality control and protocol development
- Communication skills
- Proven track record managing a small team
Preferred Skills:
- Mechanical design and modeling
- Combination product or biologics exposure
- Manufacturing scale-up or tech transfer experience
- Experience translating medical device
- Experience with preclinical development with an emphasis on rodent implants
