Warehouse Manager

Job Summary/Objective:

The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage and shipping of all items received from vendors or customers, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed in an effective, timely, safe, and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements, while maintaining a positive work culture for associates. The position oversees the receiving, storage and distribution of over $30,000,000 annually of service parts and materials and supervises 20-30 warehouse workers in the Richmond warehouse location.

Essential Job Function Experience

• Maintains an associate capability structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse mission in an effective and efficient manner.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse employees; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary. Develops warehouse leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of warehouse operations.
• Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner. Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials.
• Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Ensures the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
• Monitors and measures KPIs for warehouse performance including accuracy and efficiency of receiving, accuracy and efficiency of order fulfillment, and the accuracy and efficiency of the packaging and manifesting process.
• Manages the annual inventory through planning and preparation processes. Ensures adequate staffing to provide inventory counts over a two to three-day period. Provides resolution to Director regarding discrepancies determined from the inventory audit.
• Maintains a safe and orderly workplace. Getting rid of items and materials that aren’t for sale and don’t help with the current shipping process. Making sure that the items and materials are for sale or used for shipping are in a safe and properly working condition.
• Be an RBI systems super user with advanced knowledge of systems including the ability to diagnose when the system isn’t functioning properly and fixing it or finding a fix.
• Lead inventory accuracy at the RBI Ashland VA, including conducting regular cycle count maintenance and records, and/or lead the physical inventory count of the warehouse.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of RBI systems and or equivalent ERP and WMS systems. Acumatica ERP with Savant WMS
• Experience in a high volume, fast pace shipping environment.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment with RBI functional leaders, some of whom are remote to the Ashland Va site.
• Someone who wants to lead transformation and see the results of hard work.

Other Considerations and Duties:

• Facility Leader: provide and oversee facility maintenance support including movement of furniture and file cabinets, change light bulbs in the warehouse, office area and on the exterior. Ensures that all supplies and equipment needed to perform the warehouse duties are ordered or provided for.
• Environment: some hot and some cold temperatures in the warehouse. This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers, and may at times lift and move heavy objects.
• This is a hands-on leadership position.

Desired Education: High school diploma and 5-10 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, and at least 3 years of experience supervising employees.

Work Environment: Independent professional is mostly unsupervised work. Office work environment is typical. Not remote, the expectation of regular in-office days planned to a schedule in order to engage in urgent and relevant topical work can be addressed.

Expected Work Hours:

This position follows a regular Monday through Friday schedule, typically averaging 8–9 hours per day between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Start and end times may vary based on workload, operational priorities, or project needs. Occasional weekend availability may be required to address time-sensitive or critical matters.

Travel or driving:

Travel for example would be due to implementations, training associates, and / or building direct understanding of issues in order to properly assess them. Travel for working is limited and generally not expected, but when required is a part of the job.
