About the Role
RBDR Architects is seeking a creative and motivated Interior Designer with 0–2 years of professional experience to join our collaborative design team in Waco, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer looking to gain hands-on experience across a variety of project types while working alongside experienced architects and interior designers.
With a firm of approximately 15–18 people, there is always an opportunity to learn something new, contribute meaningfully, and grow professionally.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is passionate about thoughtful design, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to projects from concept through construction documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with interior design concepts, presentations, and material selections
- Support project teams with space planning and furniture layouts
- Create 3D models, renderings, finish palettes, and presentation materials
- Produce drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and clients
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, and project coordination
- Help maintain project schedules and design standards
Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- 0–2 years of professional experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of SketchUp or Lumion is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for design excellence and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of construction documentation and detailing
- Familiarity with FF&E selection and specification
- Interest in commercial, educational, and civic interior environments
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles is a plus
