Job Summary: This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintaining the facility including plant, equipment, and environmental requirements. This involves planning maintenance activities, training, and an effective preventative maintenance program. Support all manufacturing processes to assure plant equipment performs safely and efficiently. Goal is to prevent manufacturing equipment failures that hinder the manufacturing processes to produce our products. Achieve all the above at the lowest possible cost within minimum downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering analyses to determine the root cause of critical and repetitive equipment failures.
- Analyze equipment history to identify specific failures.
- Establish work measurement techniques and determine the effectiveness and improvements needed for the maintenance department.
- Continuously develops and improves the predictive, preventive, and corrective action practices of the maintenance team including expanding the use of predictive tools.
- Develop/update all PMs (frequency, accuracy, completeness).
- Develop/recommend spare parts lists.
- Leads and supports troubleshooting when escalated due to difficulty or complexity driving to root cause and reducing the reoccurrences of breakdowns or interruptions.
- Promotes a high level of communication between departments to resolve equipment maintenance issues.
- Ability to work all shifts as needed.
- Fosters a culture where safety is priority and procedures, and policies are followed.
- Assist in conducting required safety and quality audits.
- Support, observe, and enforce all plant safety and environmental rules.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- 2 years of experience in the field of work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Knowledge and ability to use SAP / SFD.
- Ability to proficiently utilize Kronos for employee attendance.
- Strong interpersonal and communications (verbal and written) skills.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and perform well under pressure.
- Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities.
- Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to effectively lead a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment which may contain hazards such as: loud noise, air-borne dust, exposure to hazards (pinch points, rotating machinery, sharp edges, etc.) and wear all required personal protective equipment (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, some areas may require hearing protection, and hard hat).
- Must be able to read from computer and paper sources detailed information.
- Must be able to read close tolerance measuring devices.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with all branches of the plant.
- Must be able to make changes to plan / schedule to meet customer demands / deadlines.
- Must be capable of moving about the facility, including stairs.
- Must be able to either sit or stand in the performance of job duties, often for prolonged periods of time each day. Will be required to stand and/or walk 8 – 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work long hours, including overtime and weekends is an essential function.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat, kneel and reach.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- 5% travel.
