Maintenance Assistant

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Assist and support maintenance team
• Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of manufacturing equipment
• Carry out repairs and maintenance of facility building and grounds
• Operate and maintain a variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• Clean and prepare work areas and workstations for use by mechanics and other technicians
• Document and upkeep of maintenance work orders
• Perform other basic repairs and duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor
• Work with minimal to no supervision
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and regulations
• Complete forklift, scissor lift, and lockout tagout training

Education:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Experience:

• 1-2 years related experience and/or training preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient with hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machinery
• Exceptional organizational skills and great attention to detail
• Ability to interpret maintenance instructions, manuals, safety rules, and other documents
• Excellent time management skills to complete a variety of tasks
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical & Environmental Factors:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud.
• The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear.
• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders] or have refugee or asylee status.

**Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California.  The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs. 

Pay Range: $25-29/hour.
