Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with clients, carriers, and 3PL providers to generate new business opportunities and expand existing accounts.
- Coordinate freight shipments by negotiating rates, securing capacity, and managing transportation planning to meet customer deadlines.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI, AS400, and CRM software to streamline data entry, dispatching, tracking, and reporting processes.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and other industry standards.
- Oversee logistics operations including dispatching, carrier sales, freight pricing, and supply chain coordination to optimize efficiency.
- Conduct inside sales activities such as cold calling, prospecting, and qualifying potential clients within the B2B marketplace.
- Monitor market trends in logistics and supply chain sectors to identify new revenue streams and improve service offerings.
- Ensure all transportation activities adhere to safety standards, including FDA regulations when applicable, while maintaining accurate documentation for audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management, or logistics sales with a focus on freight brokerage or 3PL services.
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, EDI, AS400, and other relevant technology platforms.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of closing contracts and securing favorable rates for clients and carriers.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding concepts including NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operations and carrier sales strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently through data entry accuracy, dispatching coordination, and effective communication.
- Knowledge of logistics regulations such as FDA compliance when handling sensitive or regulated cargo.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for customer relationship management (CRM) and inside sales activities in a fast-paced environment.
