What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Repair Apprentice position at RBC Aircraft Products, Inc.?
This individual is responsible for a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and installations of machinery and plant equipment. Must be able to quickly and accurately diagnose mechanical problems and determine a course of action combined with the knowledge and skill to independently break down and reassemble any item requiring repair or replacement. Under the direction of the lead person or supervisor, this individual must repair, retrofit, or machine replacements for a wide variety of items. This person will also perform regular and preventative maintenance procedures such as but not limited to replacing lights, various filters, inspection of various equipment such as boilers, furnaces, air conditioning units, etc. Employee must also perform basic plumbing, light welding and general painting as well as simple, routine maintenance on any equipment in the plant.Duration of Program: 8,000 hoursMonday - Friday 6:00am-2:30pm Must be available to work OT as needed Requirements: Must meet one of the following requirements:Graduated from either a four year technical high school with a course of study in machine tradesGraduated from a machine trades program at one of the technical schools or a community college (post high school)Consideration will be made for extensive machine shop experience with prior machine repair experience.The successful candidate will need to meet with a company representative as well as with the Program Manager, Office of Apprenticeship Training from the State of Connecticut, Department of Labor to be enrolled into the program.
Salary : $17 - $22
