Automotive Service Advisor/Technician

Duties

• Greet customers warmly, listen to their concerns, and accurately document vehicle issues to provide clear explanations of needed repairs.
• Use estimating software to prepare detailed repair estimates, including parts and labor costs, ensuring transparency with clients.
• Perform or oversee automotive diagnostics to identify mechanical problems related to engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, alignments, tire services, oil changes, and other vehicle maintenance needs.
• Recommend additional services in accordance with vehicle maintenance schedules
• Manage service writing tasks efficiently by creating work orders and tracking repair progress using auto service management systems.
• Conduct quality inspections post-repair to ensure all work meets safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Communicate effectively with clients throughout the repair process, providing updates and explaining repair options clearly.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of services performed and payments received.
• Support the service department’s goals by maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent client communication and professional service delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Service Technician or Automotive Mechanic with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repairs.
• Hands-on mechanic experience
• Familiarity with estimating software and auto service management systems is highly preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to perform or oversee automotive repairs efficiently.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling additional services that benefit both the customer and the dealership’s growth.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
