Overview
The Senior Program Manager serves as a hands‑on delivery leader and embedded Scrum Master for an e‑commerce product operating within a fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and often matrixed environment. This role is responsible for driving agile delivery excellence across experience (UX), design (UI), engineering, QA, and product teams while ensuring predictable execution, continuous improvement, and alignment to business outcomes.
This individual brings deep experience facilitating agile ceremonies, coaching teams on Scrum best practices, managing complex dependencies, and partnering closely with Product Owners to translate strategic intent into actionable, prioritized backlogs. The Senior Program Manager balances delivery rigor with adaptability, enabling teams to move quickly while maintaining quality, transparency, and stakeholder confidence. You are a self-starter, able to transform a high-level project request into a detailed scope, complete with an outline of team roles and responsibilities as well as project assumptions.

Compensation Range: $88,540 - 121,100 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off. Responsibilities
Agile Program & Scrum Leadership
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more agile product teams, ensuring consistent adoption of Scrum principles and ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach product, design, engineering, and QA teams on agile best practices to improve velocity, predictability, and team health.
- Actively remove impediments and manage execution risks that could impact sprint commitments or release timelines.
- Partner closely with Product Owners to support backlog readiness, story refinement, estimation, and prioritization aligned to product goals.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying patterns, delivery bottlenecks, and opportunities for process optimization.
- Coordinate delivery across UX, UI design, engineering, QA, product, and platform teams, ensuring seamless handoffs and clear accountability.
- Manage dependencies across teams and functions, proactively identifying risks and facilitating resolution to maintain delivery momentum.
- Support planning and sequencing of work across multiple product initiatives or releases within an e‑commerce ecosystem.
- Ensure alignment between design, experience, and technical implementation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain delivery plans, sprint forecasts, and release timelines using agile delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Track and communicate progress, risks, blockers, and key milestones to internal and client stakeholders.
- Ensure delivery adheres to quality standards through close partnership with QA teams and enforcement of Definition of Done.
- Support lightweight roadmap development and quarterly or increment planning in collaboration with Product and Technology leads.
- Understands and able to communicate the financial impacts to staffing changes proactively
- Act as a trusted delivery partner to product and business stakeholders, translating requirements into executable agile plans.
- Facilitate effective working sessions and discussions to resolve ambiguity, clarify scope, and drive decisions.
- Provide clear, concise delivery reporting and storytelling tailored to both day‑to‑day team members and senior stakeholders.
- Balance competing priorities while setting expectations and reinforcing delivery commitments.
- 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Senior Program / Project Manager working within agile delivery environments.
- Proven experience supporting e‑commerce or digital product delivery, from concept through launch and ongoing optimization.
- Hands‑on experience working with UX, UI design, engineering, QA, and product teams in a highly collaborative model.
- Strong working knowledge of Scrum and Agile frameworks, with the ability to pragmatically apply them in real‑world delivery scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, risks, and constraints across cross‑functional teams.
- Experience using agile delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict‑resolution skills, with confidence working across disciplines and seniority levels.
- Ability to operate effectively in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments while maintaining delivery discipline and transparency.
- Demonstrated experience delivering programs within healthcare or other highly regulated industries, such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, financial services, or insurance.
- Ability to partner effectively with legal, compliance, IT security, and governance stakeholders throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
- Experience working in a digital agency or consulting environment supporting client‑facing delivery.
- Experience partnering with Product Management on roadmap planning and backlog strategy.
- Familiarity with commerce platforms, CMS, or MarTech tools supporting e‑commerce ecosystems.
