Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to ensure floors are polished and well-maintained.
- Follow safety protocols when handling chemical agents and performing manual handling tasks to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Assist with light maintenance duties such as minor repairs or painting in residential or commercial spaces as needed.
- Uphold safe lifting practices during heavy lifting tasks to protect yourself and colleagues while moving furniture or equipment.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling, including proper storage, usage, and disposal procedures.
- Familiarity with floor care equipment such as buffers and floor polishers for effective buffing and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to proper lifting practices.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or porter roles is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for routine inspections and cleaning schedules.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive attitude and high energy level.
